Arctic SnowHotel – spend a night in arctic conditions!

Arctic SnowHotel sleeps 70 guests and is one of the largest in the Nordic region. This spectacularly handsome building is carved each year to be different in appearance. The walls and furniture surfaces of the unique rooms are decorated with ice art and illuminated artwork. The room temperature is 0–5C°, but using the sleeping bags intended for extreme conditions combined with reindeer furs, you can be sure you will stay in warmth and comfort. On the shores of the lake the moonlight, stars and Northern Lights illuminate the silent, Lappish nature. As hotel guest you will have a good night’s sleep as the Aurora Alarm searches the skies for you.

Arctic SnowHotel is open from December 20, 2020 until March 31, 2021
Arctic SnowHotel is located in Sinettä, about 26 kilometers from Rovaniemi city center. We arrange transfers for our overnight guests with additional cost. No special equipment is required, other than warm outdoor clothes suited for winter, but we highly recommend to pack long underwear, own hat and wool socks to wear inside the bag.

Arctic Glass Igloos

The first 15 glass igloos were built next to Arctic SnowHotel in the village of Sinettä in Rovaniemi in 2014. After that the number of the igloos has increased during several building processes and at the moment the total capacity is 39 glass igloos with 127 beds.

The glass-roofed igloos provide you the opportunity to sleep beneath the starry skies and the Northern Lights. Even though we live this far north, we can never guarantee the appearance of the Northern Lights. However, sleeping under a 360º glass roof multiplies your chances of seeing the renowned Aurora Borealis.

Each igloo is extremely well heat insulated to ensure guests are not bothered by the cold in even the coldest of times at night – the temperature is the same as in normal hotel rooms. The roof of the igloo is made from electrically heated glass, which means the glass will not cool the space; rather it maintains evenly distributed warmth while melting all the snow and ice off the roof to give you excellent view to the sky. In addition, the igloo has underfloor heating. The beds in the igloo are motorized, which makes it possible for you to easily adjust the optimal position for sleeping or viewing the skies.

Glass igloos are open from Sep 18, 2020 until March 31, 2021. Groups are welcomed to inquire about other times.
