The Lampivaara Amethyst Mine is a fascinating travel destination all year round, but especially in Summer. The Lampivaara Amethyst Mine is a fascinating travel destination 120 km from Rovaniemi. The amethysts of Lampivaara fell were born 2 000 million years ago, deep in the bowels of the ancient mountains.
During the guided tour you will learn about the geology that created the amethyst, their properties, the history of the mine and some of the uses of amethyst. After the tour, each visitor will be able to try their hand at digging for their own personal lucky amethyst!
At the end of the visit there will be some time to drop by the small Amethyst Shop on site, where amethyst from the area in the form of jewellery and other decorative items is for sale.
! Please note, the closest parking area is approximately 2 km, it takes 45 minutes to walk through the forest to the mine (one way) and back. Please wear comfortable shoes, not recommended for anyone with moving disability. If you can´t walk we can offer transfer to the place for extra 30,00 € per person

The reservations should be made preferably 2 days in advance.

4-13 year old children get child discount.
Guiding:
Excursion will be guided in English/Finnish, other languages upon request.
You will be picked up by our guide from your hotel at Rovaniemi.
Pricing:
All prices are quoted in Euros (€) and include Finland’s Value Added Tax.
Confirmation:
When the reservation is confirmed, proforma invoice will be charged. Reservation is confirmed when the payment is made.
In case the payment is not received in due date, we have the right to cancel the reservation.
Terms of payment:
100% deposit to be charged when confirming the booking.
Cancellation rules:
More than 31 days prior to arrival – 10% reservation fee to be charged.
30-14 days prior the arrival: 50% from the total amount to be charged.
Less than 14 days prior the arrival: 100% from the total amount to be charged.
