Hotel Merihovi, Kemi

Merihovi is an attractive functionalist-style hotel in the center of Kemi.

General information:

Hotel Merihovi have been built during the years 1946-1949. Over the years our hotel has visited the prominent figures of Urho Kekkonen, Mauno Koivisto, and Yuri Gagarin. During the past decades Merihovi has been owned by hotel chains and individual entrepreneurs. In 1999 Päivikki Palosaari bought and renovated Hotel Merihovi. It was re-opened in October 1999. Merihovi has a total of 69 different size and distinct rooms, 4 meeting rooms, 1 sauna for the hotel guests, 2 saunas for groups (ordered separately). The upstairs restaurant Merihovi has long been one of the most recognized restaurants in Kemi. Downstairs Cafe & Night Bar Ankkuri has long been the living room of the locals. It serves lunch and à la carte menu. On weekends you can enjoy the sounds of rock ´n roll.

The 69 rooms of Hotel Merihovi are decorated with the honour of the building´s history with a little spicyng from the nowadays. We stylished the rooms in 2008 with new textiles. In hotel we have three saunas and four meeting rooms for 6-50 persons. 9 Single rooms 48 Double rooms 12 Suites (9 with private sauna).

Room equipment: Shower or bath, hairdryer, minibar, TV, telephone and tea/coffee maker. Internet connection in the rooms on 2nd floor.

Saunas: Jukola-sauna on the basement floor for the hotel guests every day from 5 pm to 9 pm. Other time on request.

Private saunas

Uitto-sauna, 2. floor for 10 persons.  Connected with the Uitto meeting room.

Price 68 eur / 2 hour or whole evening 135 eur.

Lokki-sauna 6. floor for 15 persons. Connected with the Lokki meeting-room. Roof terrace.

Price 100 eur / 2 hour or whole evening 170 eur.

 

À la carte Restaurant Merihovi (Chaine des Rotisseurs)
On the 2nd floor (open for groups)

The spacious Restaurant Merihovi (130 seats) represents art deco style with its interior design. Restaurant serves breakfasts, delicious lunches and carefully prepared gourmet banquets. An evening in Restaurant Merihovi is accompanied by music for listening and dancing pleasure.
Enkeli-salon of the restaurant (60 seats) also can be booked for private occasions.

Cafe & Bar Ankkuri
On the 1st floor

Ankkuri is a popular lunch restaurant, and it´s suitable place for meeting and evening venue with an adult taste.
Café&Bar Ankkuri offers an elegant choice for group events. Saturdays live music nights and have already become a concept for local people. The popular lunch buffet is served on weekdays from 11.00 to 14.00.
